Broccoli: Something to Clap About

Why not?

Of course, just about everything is clapworthy these days.

He may never be the same again.

Calling in Sick

That's what CJ and I are doing today. I'm feeling fine but CJ has the croup. He is finally tucked into his crib after a sleepless, barking night, so things are looking up.

Our plan for today: nap, eat applesauce, watch movies, read, and nap--all in our pajamas, of course. It should be a good day.

A Litte New Years Cheer

I love writing New Year's Resolutions. Yes, writing them. There is nothing I love more than sitting back with a cup of hot chocolate (whipped cream on top) watching the snow fall and imagine ways I could be a better person. I write them down of course, and then sigh, finish my hot chocolate and go to bed. I've been thinking about some of my past New Year's Resolutions. One year: "Learn how to write left-handed". After about 20 minutes of practice over the entire year, I never did get it down. Another year: "Learn about the U.S. presidents, in great detail". I watched half a documentary and read a children's book. I still want to do that one again, sometime. Maybe next year.

This year is different, though. This year I am following through. Last night Christian and I wrote some New Year's Resolutions--four each in different categories. My resolution for knowledge: "Reupholster a chair". I've had this on my "to do" list for almost two years but have gotten nowhere. I shouldn't say nowhere. I've checked out books from the library, even read some, browsed sewing stores, and even bought the fabric twice. I think I maybe even googled int once. Somehow the chair is still sitting in CJ's bedroom. Any advice? I'm counting on all you seamstresses out there to help: Julene, Mom, Emily, Ashlie, Bonnie, Tori, Erma? Anyone up for the challenge?

Mostly I think my best shot is to get Elise involved in this. Elise? Ready to provide everything for this project, too?
