What do you do in your spare time? For most people, it’s a tough one to answer. For me, the answer is simple. I go to St. George to watch my sister’s kids while they go someplace exotic: Portugal, New York, Boston (just to name a few). This last weekend, we were there with my mom watching the girls while Daisy ran the Boston Marathon. It was nice to be in warm weather for a change. CJ’s highlights were his first visit to the park, being mauled by his four older girl cousins, and staying up all night (I guess he was too excited to sleep).
The highlight for me was helping Parly write an animal report for her second grade class. I miss doing those. She was really excited for it and had chosen to write about cheetahs. Interesting animal? Maybe. But a little predictable for a second grade report. After some careful persuasion over a batch of rice crispie treats (made by my mom, of course), we convinced Parly to write about the three toed sloth. I’m not quite sure who was more excited about the report—Parly or Christian. Actually, I know it was Christian. He looked stuff up on the internet for the rest of the night.
CJ was excited about the report, too. Mostly because he is now roughly the same size as a sloth—who average 8.5 pounds and 23 inches. I’m thinking of passing the information along to baby center so they can stop comparing him to fruit.
